প্রায় ১৪ লাখ টাকা ব্যয়ে ১৩৩১ বাংলা সনে মসজিদটি নির্মাণ করেন মহাজন ইয়াসীন মির্জা। বলা হয়, ১০ বছর ধরে এর নির্মাণকাজ চলে। প্রধান মিস্ত্রিকে কলকাতা থেকে নিয়ে এসেছিলেন ইয়াসীন মীর্জা। মসজিদের অভ্যন্তর সাজানো হয়েছে ইতালি থেকে আনা মার্বেল পাথরে। সুনামগঞ্জবাসীর কাছে তিন গম্বুজবিশিষ্ট এ মসজিদটির নাম পাগলার বড় মসজিদ। ঢাকার সায়েদাবাদ থেকে সুনামগঞ্জগামী শ্যামলী, মামুনসহ আরো কিছু পরিবহনের বাসে ছয় ঘণ্টায় পাগলা পেঁৗছানো যায়। ভাড়া ৩৫০ টাকা।
